The smell of seaweed permeates the air
enveloping the Greco-Roman wrecks of eons passed,
the people gone, traditions forgotten, cultures melted,
histories erased.
It’s easy to disappear in the sands of time,
buried beneath sandcastles built for the sole purpose
of being washed away.
My salty tears created the ocean,
the raging salty ocean waters disintegrate the
castles where I am Queen.
Queen for a moment, reigning as ruler of castles
adorned with a child’s shells,
decorated like the dead in a museum,
ravaged by time, by life, by being,
destroyed by the waves of salty tears I shed upon the
ocean that is my life.
My wife loves the beach ever since we had been stationed in Guam for a couple of years while we were first married. the ocean tried to kill us when ever we ventured into the water
Beautiful!
